Here you are finally at your destination and you are all loaded into your rental car, and on to your resort or hotel - yes - you need directions - always print out directions from MapQuest or your favorite map guide program and put these directions in your travel folder. Write on the right margin where the directions are going to - as you will be printing out several directions during your vacation/business adventure and this just makes it easier to see that you are looking at the correct directions.

Once you are in car, before heading out on unfamiliar streets and highways, look over your instructions and get familiar with your car, know where the windshield wiper controls are, where the headlight controls are, where the gas tank is located and make sure the car has an instruction manual in it also, the cars now are very high tech and you may need the instructions manual.

Some of the car rental companies supply you with local maps of the area, and also most resorts and hotels have them available - but at least print out the directions from the airport to your lodging place and/or your first designated stop. When you made your reservations at the hotel one of things you would have asked was about parking, so be sure and get those instructions out and have them handy so when you arrive at your destination you will know what you are looking for.

Always allow yourself a travel day without any other functions - events - reservations. This allows you to settle in, unpack, adjust to any time change, get a nice meal and let your mind, body, soul settle in. Enjoy your hotel/resort and get familiar with it, get acquainted with the facility and know what and where everything is. Take a swim or enjoy the jacuzzi, just generally unwind and enjoy.
